Oh, right. I'm here from the future to... kill Solidus?

This is not that surprising, but truly shocking in the degree of obvious similarity. I mean, I know that game box art has been terrible since the dawn of time (the stinking, shit-covered white elephant in the room for most systems, Genesis in particular), but to see that it's essentially plagiarism... jeez. Anyhow, J. R. Antrim has compiled entire website that reveals videogame lookalikes, some dead-on (like this one), others a bit more random. Enjoy!

i think phantasy star was going for some kind of frazetti thing... i guess they were (poorly) aiming for some kind of d&d player crossover but it's not like those guys hadn't heard of video games in 1993 and had to duped into picking up a box. "hey, the 3rd edition rule book--wait, what is this 'video game' i hold in my hands?"
but the real question is, which version of strider's cover art is worse, genesis or NES? (http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/strider_/cover-art/gameCoverId,29790/) my money is on the genesis, and i can't believe i'm saying that, because the NES cover art is why i never bought that game as a kid, and why i didn't play it until i was 22. but jesus christ, that genesis box is some fucking unreal garbage.
